Why choose a pin buckle

A pin buckle is the simplest closure there is: move the pin to another hole and the fit changes in seconds, with nothing to set up or cut. It also keeps the band light. With nine colours, from black and dark blue to orange, white and yellow, it is an easy way to give a Superocean or Avenger a brighter look for summer.

A folding clasp is more secure and avoids bending the rubber every time you put the watch on. How to fit it

1. Lay the watch face down on a soft cloth so the case and crystal are protected.
2. Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar at each lug and remove the current band.
3. Seat a spring bar in each end of the new band, place one tip in the lug hole, compress the other tip and let it click into place.
4. Pull gently on both sides to check it is locked in. Never open the case back: the band attaches only at the lugs.
