Why choose a curved-end rubber strap
A straight strap leaves a gap between the strap and the case; a curved end closes it, so the strap looks like part of the watch. Rubber is water resistant and wipes clean, which makes this a practical everyday option for the Portugieser. It can be ordered with a simple pin buckle as well as a folding one. How to fit it
- Lay the watch face down on a soft cloth so the case and crystal are protected.
- Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar at each lug and remove the current strap.
- Seat a spring bar in each end of the new strap, place one tip in the lug hole, compress the other tip and let it click into place.
- Pull gently on both sides to check it is locked in. Never open the case back: the strap attaches only at the lugs.
