Why choose this pilot strap
This strap comes in three colours, each in a flat or alligator version. Brown is the classic aviator choice against a black dial, black is clean and formal, and blue picks up a blue dial without being loud. The leather softens with wear. Need more length? The 145+55mm leather strap for IWC Spitfire has a 10mm longer long side.
How to fit it
- Lay the watch face down on a soft cloth so the case and crystal are protected.
- Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar at each lug and remove the current strap.
- Seat a spring bar in each end of the new strap, place one tip in the lug hole, compress the other tip and let it click into place.
- Pull gently on both sides to check it is locked in. Never open the case back: the strap attaches only at the lugs.
