Why choose canvas on a pilot length
Canvas gives a pilot or dress watch a relaxed, field-watch character, and it is lighter than leather in warm weather. This version uses the same 135+55mm split as our leather pilot straps, so the buckle sits off to the side of the wrist. Our other canvas strap for IWC is cut 120mm + 75mm, adds a 20mm size and comes in five colours, including green and beige.
How to fit it
- Lay the watch face down on a soft cloth so the case and crystal are protected.
- Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar at each lug and remove the current strap.
- Seat a spring bar in each end of the new strap, place one tip in the lug hole, compress the other tip and let it click into place.
- Pull gently on both sides to check it is locked in. Never open the case back: the strap attaches only at the lugs.
